Church School
“Let the little children come to me”- Mathew 19:14
The Covid-19 pandemic has caused us to reinvent Christian Education for children. Our new format is a mix of monthly videos, monthly church services geared toward youth and family and weekly crafts projects. Each element works together to form an educational experience focused around a particular theme.
Monthly videos contain segments of conversational teaching, music, crafts, a cooking project, and a story read by guest readers from the parish and the Diocese of Long Island. Although the videos are aimed at elementary school children, they are watched and enjoyed by people of all ages. Church School videos intentionally reflect the cultural diversity that is one of the strengths of All Saints.
Each year, a big part of our teaching comes from the annual Christmas Pageant. Beginning in the middle of November, each year, our children and young adults participate in the telling of the story of the Nativity. The Pageant experience teaches courage, kindness, and teamwork; and it is a great opportunity for making new friends!
