Good Morning All Saints’ Family,

Sunday morning was overcast and cool. There were 10 people at the 8:00 AM service and 47 in attendance at the 10:00 AM service. It was the Sixth Sunday Of Easter, Rogation Sunday and Youth and Family Sunday. The Processional Hymn was, “The Spacious Firmament On High” and the Sequence Hymn was, “Lord, Make Us Servants Of Your Praise.” The Gospel Reading was from John 15:9-17

As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.

‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.

We learn from this passage of Jesus instructing his disciples to keep the commandments and to love one another. He tells them he has chosen them not as servants, but as his friends. We must continue this way of thinking that all are chosen as Jesus’ friends if we continue to follow his teachings and spread those thoughts to others. The Offertory Anthem was, “For The Beauty Of The Earth.” The Communion Hymns were, “All Things Bright And Beautiful” and “O Love Of God, How Strong And True.” The Recessional Hymn was, “All Creatures Of Our God And King.”

The Sanctuary Lamp was given by Jeanine Carroll to the glory of God and in celebration of Tom Carroll’s birthday. The bread and wine of the Eucharist were given by Taylor, Jeff and Tina Dugas to the glory of God and in celebration of Tom Carroll’s birthday.

The Coffee Hour was full of energy and chatter as our parishioners caught up with each other. The Coffee Hour was hosted by Nancy and Ed Benedict and Olive Demetrius. There were cakes and cookies for all to enjoy with their coffee and tea. Meanwhile, in the Christian Service room the Altar Guild had a brief meeting. It was another wonderful Sunday at All Saints’!

The HVAC system has been taken down and the lead abatement should begin next week. We have on estimate for the renovation and are in the process of obtaining a second estimate. Our real estate agent has a potential renter lined up, so things are moving along in the right direction!
