Good Morning All Saints’ Family,
Sunday morning was overcast and cool. There were 16 people at the 8:00 AM service and 48 in attendance at the 10:00 AM service. It was the Third Sunday Of Easter. The Processional Hymn was, “Christ Is Alive! Let Christians Sing” and the Sequence Hymn was, “Awake, Arise, Lift Up Your Voice.” The Gospel Reading was from Luke 24:36b-48.
Then he said to them, ‘These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.’ Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures, and he said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Messiah is to suffer and to rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and forgiveness of sins is to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.
We learn from this passage, once again, Jesus appearing to his disciples and how they were startled of his presence. He then explained to them how this was foretold by him and then opened their minds to understand the scriptures so that they could be witnesses to those things for all the world to know. The Offertory Anthem was, “Polish Easter Carol.” The Communion Hymns were, “Come, Risen Lord, And Deign To Be Our Guest” and “I Come With Joy To Meet My Lord.” The Recessional Hymn was, “Sing, Ye Faithful, Sing With Gladness.” Our guest preacher was The Rev. Marjorie Boyden-Edmonds, Deacon and it was nice to welcome back The Rev. Canon Patricia Williams.
The Coffee Hour was again, full of chatter and laughter, as our parishioners and guests greeted one another. The Coffee Hour was hosted by Jack Oshier. There were bagels, brownies, cake and muffins for all to enjoy with their coffee and tea. It was another wonderful and uplifting Sunday at All Saints’!
The Coffee Hour was bursting with energy and laughter, as our parishioners again, caught up with each other. The Coffee Hour was hosted by the Miller and Doyle families. There were cookies and pastries for all to enjoy. It was another beautiful Sunday at All Saints’ and especially a joyous one with the addition of our newest Christian, Landon!
Have a great week and enjoy the wonderful weather! Hope to see you all next Sunday.
