It was another busy weekend at All Saints’. Saturday evening was our ninth edition of “Major Tom's” Coffee House. It was a small group of 22 people, but all who attended enjoyed a wonderful evening of music, fun, food and fellowship. It is always a nice to open our doors to the community and let everyone know they are welcome to attend. The night even raised $15.00 from the free will offering!

Sunday morning was rainy and cool. There were 8 in attendance at the 8:00 am service and 60 people at the 10:00 am service. It was the Seventh Sunday After Epiphany. The Processional Hymn was, “Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates” and the Sequence Hymn was, “Thy Kingdom Come, On Bended Knee.” The Gospel Reading was from Luke 6:27-38

Jesus said, "I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back."

We learn from this passage that no matter what is done to you by others, you should be kind to everyone no matter what and for this you will be rewarded. The Offertory Anthem was, “Let There Be Peace On Earth.” The Communion Hymns were, “Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us With Your Love” and “I Come With To Meet My Lord.” The Recessional Hymn was, “Go Forth For God.”

The altar flowers were given by Veronica Scanlon to the glory of God and in loving memory of her father, and Melissa Madden’s grandfather, Andrew Scanlon. The Sanctuary Lamp was given by Tom and Jeanine Carroll to the glory of God and in celebration of the birthday of their daughter, Tina Carroll Dugas. The bread and wine of the Eucharist were given by Tom and Jeanine Carroll to the glory of God and in celebration of the birthday of Iris Richardson.

The Coffee Hour was full of chatter and laughter as our parishioners greeted one another after the service. The Coffee Hour was hosted by Jack Oshier and Ellen Russell. There were bagels, cakes and cookies for all to enjoy. Meanwhile in the choir room, the Altar Guild had a meeting to discuss and prepare for the upcoming holidays. It was once again, a wonderful weekend at All Saints’!
