The Ramsay Report

August 18, 2020

Article by: Stephanie Hornback

Good evening All Saints' Family and Friends!

It was a refreshingly cool and rainy August day as we celebrated the 11th Sunday after Pentecost.
Our online service was streamed live at 10:00 a.m.  Thank you again to the Byrnes, The Quarantine Choir and Arkady for bringing All Saints Episcopal Bayside live in our homes this week.

The opening hymn was "In Christ There is No East or West." The sequence hymn was "Thou Whose Almight Word."  The Gospel reading was from Matthew 15:21-28.  The morning's sermon was delivered by Father Byrne.  The offertory hymn, "His Eye was on the Sparrow," was performed by The Quarantine Choir with a special appearance by Rhys Ritter (who celebrated his birthday on Saturday, August 16). The communion hymn was "There is a Wideness in God's Mercy."  The closing hymn was "O Zion, Haste."

If you missed Sunday's service, you can catch the replay on our YouTube channel.

We've also attached a copy of the bulletin.

Zoom coffee hour was buzzing, with parishioners catching up, learning more about the new All Saints Shop (see below for more information) and continuing tech updates that will allow for online services to continue with ease once Teddy returns to school.

  • Major Tom's Coffee House Online
NOTE THE NEW START TIME: 7:00 p.m.

Major Tom's Coffee House Online returns on Saturday, August 22. We are continuing to evolve and adapt this year and this month's coffee house is no exception. Here's the current plan according to Major Tom.

We will be streaming the coffee house live from the All Saints courtyard (outside) on August 22nd at 7pm with live performers. If you want to perform please let Tom Espenshade know as soon as possible. If you've already confirmed, please confirm again that you are aware of the earlier start time.

FRIENDLY REMINDER: If you are NOT a performer, please don't come. We would love to see you and entertain you in person but to assure everyone's safety and to comply with social distancing regulations we are allowing only performers to attend this month's coffee house.

If you want to perform, but not able to attend in person then please send your video on or before August 19 to Teddy Byrne. Here is the link to upload your performance: Click Here

Finally, the All Saints Shop has lots of Major Tom’s Coffee House merchandise: Click Here

A percentage of all sales goes directly back to the church.

Be sure to check out all our other design options too. If you click on the photo below, it will take you right to our shop's front door.
