The Ramsay Report

April 3, 2017

Sunday was a beautiful sunny and warm day!  There were 12 people at the 8:00 AM service and 53 in attendance at the 10:00 AM service. It was the Fifth Sunday In Lent. The Processional Hymn was, “All My Hope On God Is Founded” and the Sequence Hymn was, “O Love Of God, How Strong And True.”  The Gospel Reading was from John 11:1-45 (see attached). We learn from this passage the raising of Lazarus from the dead by Jesus after four days and his proclamation that he is the resurrection and the life and Lazarus’s new life with Jesus. Our life with Jesus is not only to be with him eternally, but that we are raised to life with Jesus each and every day. The Offertory Anthem was, “There’s A Wideness In God’s Mercy.” The Communion Hymns were, “Here, O My Lord, I See Thee Face To Face” and “Come With Us, O Blessed Jesus.”  The Recessional Hymn was, “Hail, Thou Once Despised Jesus.”

The altar greenery was given by Shirley and Michael DellaVecchia to the glory of God and in celebration of Chiara and Gerard Osborne’s 20th wedding anniversary. The sanctuary lamp was given by Francesca Bergenn to the glory of God and in loving memory of Anthony J. DellaVecchia and by Ruth Rutigliano to the glory of God and in celebration of Jeanine Carroll’s birthday. The vigil lamp was given by Paul and Susan Parfrey to the glory of God and in celebration of the anniversary of Eileen and Brian Smith and by Stella and Andrew Elder to the glory of God and in celebration of Jeanine Carroll’s birthday. The bread and wine of the Eucharist was given by Francesca and Ed Bergenn to the glory of God and in celebration of Chiara and Gerard Osborne’s 20th wedding anniversary.

The Coffee Hour was filled with energy and laughter, as our parishioners caught up with each other and discussed the wonderful weather. The Coffee Hour was hosted by Paul Walton and there were doughnuts and cookies for all to enjoy with their coffee and tea.

Meanwhile, in the Christian Service room, the ladies from the parish, held their monthly Sunday ECW meeting and the Sunday School students and staff were in the Choir Room, practicing their Easter anthem.  It was another wonderful and busy Sunday at All Saints’!

Have a great week and hope to see many of you on Wednesday for the final Deanery Lenten Series, on Saturday for the Spring Clean-up and if not, next Sunday!
